Nutrition is a big part of my recovery from the hardships of my past. I feel that eating well is the highest form of self-care. Why? Because we are literally made up of food ... so what we put in our body matters! No matter what a person is struggling with, it can be made better with proper nourishment. My wish for my clients to stop fighting with food and with themselves, and start seeing food for what it is, a necessary part of life meant to be enjoyed!
Amino Acid Therapy, the use of supplemental amino acids to replenish depleted neurotransmitter systems, is my specialty. I help people balance their brains so they can cope with stress and make good choices for their lives! Amino acids changed my life and was the MISSING PIECE to my recovery program. I have helped hundreds of people succssfully use amino acids to curb their cravings for alcohol, sugar and other substances and addictive behaviors. Not just for addiction though, it's useful to anyone, because I believe everyone is in recovery from something!
I’m a cum laude graduate of UC Santa Barbara. I'm Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition (BCHN ™) and hold a Nutrition Consultant Certificate (NC) from Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts. I also hold an Advanced Certification as a Recovery Nutrition Coach (CRNC2) for Nutritional Therapy / Amino Acid Therapy from The Academy for Addiction and Mental Health Nutrition. I'm a past board member and currently on the Advisory Board for the Alliance for Addiction Solutions (www.allianceforaddictionsolutions.com) I implemented Amino Acid Therapy into a rehabilitation program in Northern California in 2018, which unfortunately was short lived but I continue to pursue the Alliance's mission to get nutrient therapy into rehabilitation programs.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA with my 3 children and 2 dogs. I've enjoyed endurance sport competition for over 20 years, including triathlon racing, running and cycling events and open water swimming. Other diverse interests that keep me busy include snowboarding, SCUBA, rock climbing, yoga, hiking, travel and movies.
